Caitie B. is a powerhouse vocalist from the Northeast US who has been actively ascending in the New Orleans music scene since the inception of her band in the spring of 2023, Caitie B. & The Hand Me Downs. Emerging from the vibrant and eclectic music scene of New Orleans, Caitie B. And The Hand Me Downs have carved a unique niche with their soulful blend of blues, rock, and hints of their adopted city’s rich musical heritage. Caitie B.’s powerful and emotive voice has been compared to those of Jill Scott, Ann Wilson of 'Heart', Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, and Susan Tedeschi, and has been described as “soul-stirring” and “captivating.” The group delivers an authentic and refreshing sound that resonates with a wide audience.

And the band name? Aspiring to make music her full time job since 2014, Caitie B. was hard at work financially supporting her then husband’s ambitions of grad school and professional musicianship. She managed, financed, and promoted events and gigs for their group at the time, Linden Street Connection. When it was made clear her wishes of exiting the 9-5 workforce to pursue music would always be secondary, Caitie B. took a leap of faith and left the life she knew behind.  

Spawned in 2023, Caitie B. & The Hand Me Downs has since defined themselves as a top notch act with their funky blues & soul sound, penning original music and landing multiple residencies in New Orleans. They have quickly gained local acclaim with their energetic live performances and heartfelt song delivery. Each band member brings their own distinct musical background contributing to a sound that is both diverse and cohesive and creates the perfect backdrop for Caitie B.’s compelling vocals. The band’s live shows, known for their passionate delivery and witty connection with the audience, have solidified their reputation as one of New Orleans’ must-see acts.
